Sri Lanka faces shortage of police officers: Minister

Sri Lanka is currently facing a shortage of police officers, Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today.

The Minister said the country needs 28,000 police officers and that steps have been taken to recruit 5,000 policemen immediately.
