Twenty one passengers injured near Deduru Oya Bridge bus crash

Twenty-one passengers were injured and admitted to the Chilaw General Hospital following a bus accident near the Deduru Oya Bridge on the Colombo-Puttalam main road yesterday (4) around 11.40 a.m.

The bus belonging to the Point Pedro Depot, veered off the road and crashed into a tree near the bridge. It took nearly 30 minutes to rescue the driver, who was trapped in the wreckage. He was extricated by cutting through several seats, including the driver’s seat.
