Northern line trains to operate daily from tomorrow

The Sri Lanka Railways Department has announced that the intercity express train operating on the Northe Line during weekends will now run daily starting tomorrow (July 7), following numerous requests from commuters.

Accordingly, Train No. 4021 will operate between Mount Lavinia and Kankesanthurai (KKS) every day. The train is scheduled to depart from Mount Lavinia at 5:15 a.m. and arrive in KKS at 12:13 p.m. It will make the retu jou ey from KKS at 1:50 p.m., reaching Mount Lavinia at 8:58 p.m.

In line with the introduction of this daily service, the Railways Department has also amended the departure time of the Yal Devi express train. Previously scheduled to depart Colombo Fort at 5:45 a.m., the new departure time will be 6:40 a.m.

The department advised passengers who have made advance reservations for the Yal Devi to take note of the revised departure time.
