Over 8,000 Dansals registered for Esala Poya festival

 A total of 8,355 Dansals have been registered across the island in celebration of the Esala Poya festival, the Public Health Inspectors' (PHI) Union announced.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Union Secretary Chamil Muthukuda said that all organizers have been notified to operate these Dansals in accordance with health and safety guidelines issued for the season.

He added that inspections will be carried out throughout today (10), with around 2,000 Public Health Inspectors deployed islandwide to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all Dansal sites.
