Government aims to modify public sector: President

Colombo, July 4 (Daily Mirror) - The gove ment is expecting to allocate funds through the next budget to develop physical resources in the gove ment sector, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.

Speaking at the luanch of the 'Praja Shakthi National Programme', he said public sector salaries were increased in the last budget to develop human resources in the public sector.

He said funds will be allocated to purchase vehicles required for state institutions such as Divisional Secretariats.

The President said the gove ment is aiming to modify the public sector for the benefit of the people.
