Trump nominates Eric Meyer as U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka

The White House has nominated Eric Meyer, a seasoned American diplomat from Califo ia, to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

President Donald Trump has officially submitted Meyer’s nomination to the United States Senate for confirmation.

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Meyer currently serves as the Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. In this role, he oversees the bureau’s operations and coordinates U.S. policy priorities across a wide region, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
