Police opened fire on a motorcycle that failed to comply with orders at a checkpoint in the Dungalpitiya area of Negombo this afte oon (3). According to police sources, the motorcycle had sped through the roadblock without stopping, prompting officers to discharge their weapons. One individual on the motorcycle sustained injuries and has been admitted to hospital.
