Here’s what the President said to the IMF boss

The current gove ment has been able to strengthen the public service by staying with the Inte ational Monetary Fund, said Transport and Highways Minister Bimal Rannayake.

He made this statement on the evening of the 2nd while participating in an inspection tour to inspect the construction of the new Manampitiya, Kotaliya and Gallella bridges on the Polonnaruwa-Battikaluwa main road.

He said that a President represented the Polonnaruwa district but the two Manampitiya and Gallella bridges could not be constructed, and that eleven lives were lost in an accident at this location when a private bus fell into the Kotaliya Oya in Manampitiya.

He noted that although the current gove ment is currently implementing a joint program with the Inte ational Monetary Fund, the country will exit the IMF in December 2027, and that the President has told the head of the IMF that.
