Judge arrested for accepting bribe at Kaduruwela Quazi Court

A judge and a clerk attached to the Kaduruwela Quazi Court were arrested today (04) by officers from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over a bribery incident.

According to Bribery Commission officials, the two suspects were taken into custody while at the court premises for allegedly soliciting a bribe of Rs. 100,000. 

The bribe had reportedly been demanded in exchange for delivering a favorable ruling for a woman involved in an ongoing divorce case.

Both suspects are expected to be produced before court, while further investigations are being carried out by CIABOC officers.
