A 22-year-old youth was killed in a shooting incident at Bothale, Pahalagama in Meerigama this afte oon, Meerigama police said.
The deceased is a resident of Akkara Vissa in Meerigama.
It is reported that the youth had been shot at over an incident where he had trespassed a land in the Bothale, Pahalagama area and stolen Durian fruits.
Meerigama police are conducting further investigations.
